About Gracie
Gracie is the owner and head trainer of Shire Paws Dog Training. She has spent the past four years working in the animal industry, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of varying breeds, temperaments, and training need. In 2024, Gracie opened her business to work independently and provide personalized training rooted in structure, clarity, and real-world results.
Outside of professional training, Gracie actively participates in dog sports with her own dogs, refining precision, focus, and teamwork through purposeful work. She also has experience in K9 detection handling, which has shaped her approach to training by emphasizing engagement, problem-solving, and reliability under distraction. This background allows her to develop dogs that are not only obedient, but mentally engaged and eager to work.
At the heart of Gracie's work is a belief that training is a journey shared between dog and handler. Her goal is to guide each team toward their full potential, building trust, confidence, and lasting skills that extend far beyond basic obedience. Whether addressing everyday challenges or advanced training goals, Gracie is passionate about helping dogs and their people achieve meaningful, life-changing results.
A Heart for rescue
Rescue work is an important part of Gracie's training journey. She has worked closely with numerous rescue organizations and has personally trained, fostered, and rescued dozens of dogs over the years, many of whom came with behavioral challenges, uncertainty, or limited foundations.
This hands-on experience has shaped her understanding of dogs who need patience, structure, and clear guidance to thrive. Gracie values giving dogs a second chance and helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their next chapter, whether that means transitioning into a permanent home, advanced training, or simply learning how to exist in this complicated world.
Her work with rescues reflects a belief that every dog, regardless of their past, has the potential to grow when given the right leadership and opportunity. It is a quiet but steady commitment to helping dogs find their footing and walk forward with purpose.
